E-Verify

E-Verify Participant

Emisint Participation in E-Verify

Emisint is a proud participant in E-Verify, an employment eligibility verification program managed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA). This program helps us ensure a legal workforce and protect American jobs by electronically comparing the information provided on an employee's Form I-9 with official government records to confirm identity and authorization to work in the United States.

How E-Verify Works at Emisint

E-Verify takes employment verification to the next level by verifying the accuracy of the information entered on the Form I-9. At Emisint, we strictly follow the program’s guidelines to ensure a fair and efficient onboarding process for all our team members:

  • Timing: We create an E-Verify case for each newly hired employee within three business days after their first day of employment.

  • Sequential Process: We only use E-Verify after a job offer has been accepted and the Form I-9 is fully completed. E-Verify is never used to pre-screen applicants.

  • Documentation: While employees have the right to choose which documents to present for the Form I-9, any List B identity document used for E-Verify must contain a photo.

Commitment to Privacy and Fairness

We take our responsibility to protect your information seriously. Emisint strictly adheres to federal guidelines to safeguard all personally identifiable information (PII). Access to E-Verify is restricted to authorized personnel who use secure, individualized accounts to manage cases.

Furthermore, Emisint is committed to a workplace free from discrimination. We do not use E-Verify to discriminate against any individual based on their national origin, citizenship, or immigration status. We treat all employees equitably throughout the verification process.

Understanding Case Results

Most cases are confirmed as "Employment Authorized" almost immediately. However, if E-Verify is unable to confirm eligibility right away, a "mismatch" result may occur. In these instances:

  • Transparency: We will discuss the case result with the employee in private.

  • Right to Action: We provide the affected employee with a Further Action Notice and the opportunity to contact DHS or SSA to resolve the issue.

  • No Adverse Action: Emisint will not terminate, suspend, or take any adverse action against an employee while they are in the process of resolving a mismatch. Adverse actions are only considered if the process results in a Final Non-confirmation.

By participating in E-Verify, Emisint reinforces its commitment to legal compliance, workforce integrity, and the protection of employee rights.
